- Another great idea is to seek employment in a resort or adventure camp. Hiring is usually done in the offseason, so plan early. Some options are working at ski resorts, rafting companies, all-inclusive vacation resorts or even surf instruction. Resorts typically need staff for every activity they offer, so find out things you can do at your skill level.
- Related to the previous point is service industry jobs. For example, there are only so many ski instructor jobs out there, but the resort town has 100 hotels that need staff for peak season too. We’ve met so many international worker during ski vacations that work hard during the day and party like rock stars at night.

- People who make a living as writers, graphic designers, photographers and web designers can do their work from anywhere in the world as long as they have access to an internet connection. There are online companies that allow these people to hire themselves out as virtual assistants or simply for one off tasks.
- Becoming an online entrepreneur is the way of the future and there are numerous ways to make legitimate money online. If you can create a blog that gets massive hits regularly then you can command significant advertising revenue. Also, affiliate marketing typically pays you a commission whenever someone purchases a product you advertise on your blog. The great thing is that you can easily pick and choose the products you like to promote.
- Another option is to start a business in a foreign country. Ever dream of owning a beach bar? How about a scuba school? The cost to open a business away from home may be much cheaper than starting it in your own backyard. This one can be tricky though as the rules for opening a business can vary greatly depending on which country you settle in.
